Dr. Sally Boyd Daughtrey holds a BA in Psychology of Health and Healing earned from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado and the honors program at New College of USF. She also studied and holds a certificate in Buddhist and Western comparative psychology from Naropa Institute, and she completed training thru the Master’s level in a specific counseling discipline called Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP). While working as a therapist was rewarding, she found that the whole person must also be engaged in the healing process. She then expanded her training to study midwifery and traditional Chinese medicine while completing her doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. She then became board certified and completed a rigorous 2 year residency in naturopathic primary care and family medicine at Emerald City Naturopathic Clinic, which prepared her well for the challenges and rewards of an independent family practice in rural Hawaii. Dr. Daughtrey is happily married to Donald Daughtrey, the general manager of their clinic, Vitality Integrative Medicine. They also breed and train Icelandic horses and therapy dogs and are raising 4 wonderful children on their farm in the deep forests of the Big Island.
